PORTER Wallace John – On February 28, 2025

Peacefully at Tuarangi Home, aged 89 years. Loved husband of the late Janet. Father and father-in-law of Michael and Lyn (Blenheim), Sue and Geoff Farmer (Pegasus), and Christopher (Sydney). Loved Grandad of Melanie and Ben Fisher, Joshua and Rachael Porter,       great-Grandad of Alise, Chloe, Nadine, and Samantha Pettigrew, and Jack, and Emily Fisher, and great-great-Grandad of Nikau Clemett.  He will be forever in our hearts.  A special thank you to the staff at Tuarangi Home for their loving care of Wallace.   Messages to the Porter family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  A service to celebrate Wallace’s life will be held in our Chapel, cnr East & Cox Streets, Ashburton on Friday March 7, commencing at 10.30am, followed by interment at the Ashburton New Lawn Cemetery.

WANHALLA Pauline (nee Waerea) – on February 25, 2025.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by her whanau.  Precious Mum and mother in law of Andrew, the late Deidre, and David Kerr, Vanessa and Corey McElroy, the late Roslyn, and John Watts, and Brendon.  Treasured Nana G to all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  A service to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held at 81 Grey Street, Ashburton on Saturday March 1st, commencing at 1.00pm, followed by private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

MOLLOY, Margaret Anne – On February 21, 2025

Margaret passed away suddenly, aged 85 years. Much loved wife to the late Morris. Loved, respected & cherished mother and mother-in-law of David and Sonia, Hamish and Lisa, Robert and Barbara (USA), and Grant and Allister. Loved Granny to Emily, and Julia; Olivia, Samantha, and Josh; Austin, Hunter, and Sheldon (USA), and their partners. Also Great Granny (GG) to William and James. GORDON Doreen Margaret Mae (nee Middleton) on February 15, 2025

Peacefully at Methven House, aged 100 years. Treasured wife of the late Duncan. Much loved Mother and Nanna Gordon of Glenda, Angela, Roses and their families. McGEORGE Gavin Kenneth on February 14, 2025

Peacefully at Coldstream Lifecare, Ashburton, in his 84th year. Elder son of Victor and May (both deceased). Treasured brother of Colin and the late Noelene Gardiner. Friend, uncle or cousin to many. Heartfelt thanks to Coldstream staff for their sympathetic professional care of Gavin. After a private cremation, Gavin’s ashes will be placed in the Rakaia cemetery in a private ceremony on a date to be determined.

CORBETT William Sherwood (Bill) – on February 13, 2025

Passed away peacefully at Radius Millstream, Ashburton, on February 13, 2025, in his 98th year.  Dearly loved husband of Patricia, and the late Pauline.  Much loved father and father in law of John and Judy, Pamela and Dave, Lesley and Dean, and father to Ken and Sue Miles, Alastair and Donna Miles, and Hamish and Veronica Miles. Much loved grandfather and great-grandfather.  Messages to the Corbett family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Ashburton St John Ambulance would be much appreciated and may be left at the service.  Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Radius Millstream for their compassionate care over the past 3 years.  He will be deeply missed.  A service for William will be held at St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Park Steet, Ashburton on Monday February 17, commencing at 2.00pm., followed by private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

HEWITT Dianne – on February 12, 2025.

After a long battle with illness at Ashburton Hospital, aged 84 years, Loved wife and mate of Raymond.  Beloved mother and mother in law of Terry and Wendy, Jennifer and Bill Wasley, and Robyn and Lance Mitchell (Australia). Dearly loved Gran of Sophie, Kaitlyn, Mathew, and Kate, and great-Gran of Ruby, Olivia, Chloe, Luca, and Darcy.  Special thanks to the staff at Princes Court for their love and attention to Dianne, and to Ashburton Hospital for her final days. RICHARDSON Kathleen Joan (Joan) – On February 6, 2025,

At Ashburton Hospital aged 84. Much loved wife of the late Keith. Loving and dearly loved Mum and mother in law of Jo and Clayton, Maryann and Ross. Doting and adored Gran of Kaitlin and Laura. JOHNSTON Robin Mary – On February 4, 2025,

Passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Loving wife and best friend of the late Eric. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Eric Johnston, Mary-Jean and Chris Hart, Leah-Ann and Douglas McTague, Debbie and Mark Shea, and Jayne and Shaun Flett. She was the heart of her family. Treasured grandmother of Shannon and Zoey, Brooke and Stephanie, Sarah and Jack, Symone and Shaun, Jesse and Chevylee, Lagan and Jarrad, Samuel and Sarah, Harmony, and Eric, and Shania and Aliyah .Doting great-grandmother of her “little Darlings” all who brought her endless joy. Admired daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunty, and dear friend. Robin will be remembered for her kindness, strength and boundless love. “There are no goodbyes for us. Passed away peacefully at Radius Millstream, Ashburton on February 4th 2025, in her 90th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Ernie Bird, and the late Allan Baynes. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Sue Letham, Rose and Greg Trudgeon, the late Christine Bird, and the late David Bird. Loved stepmother of Jeanette and Jack Harmer. Adored Nana of Nicholas, Andrew, and Cameron Letham and Emily; and Letitia and Logan Smart; and Kurt, Jon, and Brett Harmer. Treasured sister and sister-in-law of Brian and Laraine Goddard, Jim and Sheila Goddard (Christchurch), and Kathy and Mike O’Malley (Waikanae). Cherished by all her nieces and nephews.
