Taken too soon, peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on Sunday December 22, 2019, aged 35 years. Dearly loved and cherished wife of Hamish. Much loved and devoted Mum of Holly and Ryan. Cherished daughter of John and Julie Wainwright (Timaru). A loved sister and sister in law of Matt and Jillisa, Bex and Nick, Simon, and Stacey and Greg.

HETRICK, Joan Lillian: December 22, 2019

At Ashburton Hospital. Aged 86 years. Dearly loved wife of Bill for 65 years. Much loved mother and mother in law of Lloyd and Shanna, Kay and Bryce, and John and Kristeen. IVISON, John Wesley: 8.1.1932 – 16.12.2019

John passed away peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on Monday evening. A devoted husband, best friend and soul mate to Ruth. Much loved brother to Joan, respected uncle to the Lawrence boys and their families and brother in law to Trevor and Barbara Greasley.

We are extremely grateful to Dr Penny Holdaway and her team, the staff on ward one, St John, and the Cancer Society for their care of John over the past week and finally to Tony Sands and his staff and all our friends at Lochlea, thank you for your love and support and for being there for us during this difficult time.  At John’s request a private cremation has been held.

DAUBE, Shona Beryl: December 11, 2019

On December 11, 2019 passed away peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her family. Dearly loved wife of Chris, cherished mother and mother in-law of Chris and Trudy and Bronwyn and Warren, adored grandmother of Jacob, Carlin, Stella and partners, Holly, Nathan, and Ryan and a loved aunty, cousin and friend of many. Mum would be upset if we didn’t include her loving and loyal companion of the four legged variety, Jackson. In lieu of flowers donations to Darfield Hospital would be greatly appreciated.At Shona’s request a private service was held outdoors in Darfield on Monday 16th December.

HARNETT, Myra Lillian: December 12, 2019

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Christchurch Hospital. In her 90th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Jim for 60 years. Loved mother and mother in law of Jeremy and Andrea, Susan and Quinten, Annabel and Ken, Nick, Sara and Tjeerd, Louise and Brent, and Willy and Katrina. MCGRATH, John Redmond: (Johnny) December 12, 2019

After 88 years full of fun, laughter and unwavering love we are sad to say that on December 12th 2019, Johnny begun a new journey in life. He tried so very hard to stay and our family were lucky to have some extra special times as we gently released him from our embrace. Simply the best husband, father, grand dad, great grand dad, son, brother, uncle and friend and we were so lucky to have had him in our lives. Marie’s soul mate, partner in crime, best friend and husband for 63 years – two peas in a pod.    Best friend, adored, respected and loved Dad to Shona, Bren, Lynnie, Julie, Phil and Jeff.    Loved and adored by everyone, he will be missed, but never forgotten. Johnny will be at Baker Street from 5pm Tuesday evening through to Wednesday afternoon. A Vigil/Rosary Service will be held at the Church of the Holy Name, Sealy Street, Ashburton on Wednesday 18th at 5.30pm, followed by the celebration of Johnny’s life at the Hotel Ashburton , Racecourse Road, on Thursday December 19th , commencing at 1.30pm.  Followed by private cremation at Ashburton Crematorium.

KINGSBURY, Gillian Lorraine: (Gill) December 10, 2019

Passed away peacefully at Ashburton Hospital, aged 83 years. Very much loved and special wife oif Lynn. Dearly loved mother and mother in law of Celia and David, Vanessa and Scott, Robin and Lisa and treasured Grandma of Jack, and Kate; Jessica, Emily, and Olivia; and Callum, Juliet, and Fleur. A special thank you to St John the nursing staff at Ashburton Hospital for the compassion and support shown to Gill and family.
