STRATFORD Steven Kenneth (Steve), on March 6, 2021

24.8.59  –  6.3.2021 (61 years). Tragic accident at the Tekapo canals while fishing.  Very special husband and soulmate of Sue for 35 years.  Loving and amazing father of Nicholas, and Amber and best Pops of Connor and Meleah.  Special friend of Cindy, and Taten.  Loved son of the late Phyl and Clarrie Stratford.  Respected brother and brother in law  of Gary and Chrissie, Shirley and Gerald,  Dianne and Bernie (Qld), and Murray and Lynda (Qld).  Loved son in law of the late Donald and Janet Good, special brother in law of Stephen Good (Perth), Carolyn and Terry Brown (Auckland). Loved and respected by all his nieces and nephews. WHITING Rex Robert (Gnomey), on March 7, 2021

at Ashburton Hospital, suddenly and peacefully on Sunday March 7, 2021 aged  72 years.  Moyra’s (Maude) precious, treasured and very best loved buddy has gone to fish in new waters, and read more books.  Fiercely loved Dad of Bronnie and Gordon, Campbell and Mel.  Proud Poppy of Brayden, Tenielle, Molly, Lachie and a grand-daughter yet to be met.  Dearly loved son of Maureen and the late Trevor Whiting, and much loved brother, brother in law and friend of Trevor and Liz, Lynda and Peter, Gary and Dawn, and Andrew.  Loved son in law of the late Morris and Marguerite, loved brother in law of Sheena, Trevor and Paul, David and Pat, Marjorie and Andy.  Loved uncle of Lee-Ann and Chris, Shane, Anya and Matt, Cawte and Debbie, Michael and Tania, Vicky and Aaron, and their families.  “Tight lines our dearest, we’re with you forever.” Messages to the Whiting Family c/- P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  No flowers by request.  A service to celebrate Rex’s life will be held at the Hotel Ashburton, Racecourse Road, on Friday March 12, commencing at 1.00pm.  Followed by cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium. BURROWES Nancy Eunice (Nan), on March 2, 2021

at Summerset in Wigram, Christchurch. Aged 94 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Jim Burrowes. Much loved mother and mother in law of Sue and the late Ivan Burrowes, Jeanette and Wayne, Alister, Lynda and Graeme, Polly and the late Gigi, and Beverley and Michael. Much loved nana of Simon and Sara, Jay, Lisa and Glen, Melissa, Karly, Philippa and James, Sam and Tessa, Cara, Nadav, the late Eitan and Maya, Oliver, Frances, Ashley and Henry, and great nana of all of her great grandchildren. “A hard working and loving woman who will be sadly missed. Passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2021 at Ashburton Hospital, in her 91st year.  Loved wife of the late Kelvin for 68 years. Loved mother, mother in law and friend of Karen and Danny Crequer, Leanne Chisnall and Barb Sheard.  Loved Gran of Nicola and Carl, Philippa and Shannon; Kelly and Nigel, Simon and Lyndall.  Loved great Gran of Taylor, Travis; Edwin, Asher and Indie.  Messages to the Montgomery family c/- P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740. peacefully in her sleep at home, Ashburton. Aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Paddy. Loved mother and mother in law of Simon and Sheilena,  Jane and Mark, and the late Steve. WILKIE John Alexander, on February 27, 2021

 8 April 1940 – 27 February 2021. He tramped his beloved hills, trapped and released his beloved eels, fought for the waterways, looked after Mother Earth, now he in turn will return to his roots. His mana will prevail. Loved husband of Gloria (deceased). Special and much loved Pop of Stevien and Tarn. Wonderful brother of Bev (deceased), Sally and Noel, Sylv and Don, Eddie and Anne, and Al and Tia. Loved and loving uncle of Sonya, Nichola, Tracey, Gerald, Janelle, Kell, Ricki, Jade, Alan, and Shane and their respective partners. And a loved great uncle. The whanau would like to acknowledge his amazing support network for their friendships and aroha through John’s environmental passions and his final days.
