Suddenly but peacefully, after a short illness at Rosebank Lifecare, Ashburton, aged 74 years. Cared for by his wife Anita (Neate).  Loved Dad, father in law, and Grandad of Michael, Nichola (Nic), Penny, and Ollie (Nelson), and Joanna (Jo) and Martyn (Marty), Jack, Tom and Charlotte Vercoe (Cambridge).  Many thanks to Rosebank for their wonderful care of Rod for the past 9 weeks.  Messages to the Hayes family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  In lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Care Canterbury or The Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be made at the service. A service for Rod will be held at the Collegiate North Clubrooms, Smithfield Road, Ashburton on Thursday September 14, commencing at 1:00pm. An Interment will be held at the Ashburton New Lawn Cemetery.
